Buffalo Presbyterian Church was established in 1753 by settlers from Nottingham Presbyterian Church in Rising Sun, Penn. (now Maryland). Members of this “Scotch Irish” congregation were prominent in early politics, education and cultural affairs, and were avid Patriots during the Revolutionary period.
